The Ada East District Assembly on 10th and 11th February, 2026 successfully hosted a performance monitoring exercise aimed at assessing the Assembly’s administrative, financial, and development performance in line with national local governance standards.
The two day exercise brought together officials from the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, Management of the Assembly, Heads of Departments, and key Technical Officers. The monitoring team reviewed the Assembly’s compliance with statutory obligations, implementation of approved programmes and projects, financial management practices, and overall service delivery outcomes.
Key areas examined included the implementation of Executive Committee and General Assembly decisions and resolutions, utilisation of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and Internally Generated Funds (IGF), project monitoring and reporting, record management, decentralized departmental coordination, functionality of substructures and adherence to the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), Public
Financia management act, 2016 (Act 921) and the Procurement act, 2016 (Act 914) as amended.
The team also engaged Management and departmental heads on challenges affecting performance, including environmental constraints, funding delays, and capacity gaps, while identifying opportunities for improvement through enhanced coordination, documentation, and results based planning.
The exercise further served as a platform for institutional learning and strengthening, with practical recommendations aimed at improving efficiency, accountability, internal controls, and value-for-money in service delivery.
Management of the Assembly expressed appreciation to the monitoring team for their constructive engagement and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to implementing the recommendations to improve performance and service delivery across the district.
The Ada East District Assembly remains committed to transparent governance, accountability, and continuous improvement in the delivery of development interventions for the benefit of its people.
