ADA EAST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLDS TWO-DAY FIRST ORDINARY MEETING OF THE THIRD SESSION OF THE 9TH ASSEMBLY

The Ada East District Assembly successfully held its two-day First Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the 9th Assembly from 30th to 31st July 2026.
The meeting brought together the District Chief Executive, the District Coordinating Director, Honourable Assembly Members from all electoral areas, government appointees and Heads of Departments of the Assembly.
During the meeting, the District Chief Executive presented the Sessional Address, highlighting the Assembly’s achievements, ongoing development projects, challenges and priority programmes intended to improve the lives of residents within the district.
Members also received, discussed and considered the Executive Committee’s Report. The report contained recommendations on various matters previously examined by the subcommittees of the Assembly.
Another major item considered was the 2026 Programme-Based Budget and Annual Action Plan. The documents outlined the Assembly’s planned programmes, projects, activities and financial allocations for the 2026 financial year. Members carefully deliberated on the

proposals and made recommendations to support their effective implementation.
The Assembly also received and considered reports from the various Area Councils. The reports provided updates on activities, development needs and challenges affecting communities within the respective electoral areas.
Additionally, members considered a report submitted by an Ad Hoc Committee on the disbursement of funds allocated to Persons with Disabilities. The discussions focused on ensuring fairness, transparency, accountability and compliance with the approved guidelines governing the disbursement of the funds.
Honourable Assembly Members actively contributed to the discussions, sought clarification on the various presentations and offered recommendations aimed at strengthening service delivery and promoting sustainable development throughout the Ada East District.
The successful conclusion of the two-day meeting reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to effective local governance, transparency, accountability and the implementation of development programmes that respond to the needs of the people.
