The Information Services Department (ISD) serves as the communication arm of the District Assembly, responsible for informing and educating the public on government policies, programmes, projects, and decisions of the Assembly. The Department promotes public awareness, civic responsibility, and citizen participation in local governance. In addition, the ISD facilitates the implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act by providing the public with access to official information held by the Assembly, responding to information requests in line with the law, and promoting transparency, accountability, and open governance within the district.
Coordinates disaster prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, and rehabilitation activities in the district.
Provides social protection services, child welfare, disability support, and assistance to vulnerable groups.
Supports SMEs with business development services, training, advisory support, and access to finance.
Promotes human rights, administrative justice, investigates complaints, and educates the public on rights.
Promotes democracy and citizen education, fosters national unity, and encourages active participation in governance to ensure informed and disciplined citizens.
Registers births and deaths, issues certificates, and maintains vital records for legal and planning purposes.
Facilitates youth employment through skills training, job placement, and entrepreneurship programs.
Legal aid provides government-funded support to ensure access to justice, covering essential services like legal advice, family mediation, and representation in courts or tribunals. These services are designed to help individuals who cannot afford legal costs enforce their rights and resolve disputes fairly.
